¶ General Setup Guide (TP-Link) – FTTN/B Setup
This is a general guide to help you navigate through. IF your require a specific guide please refer to your vendor of modem/router for further help. (TP LINK Used - VR2800)
Step 1: Reset your device to clear any previous configuration.
To reset the device to its factory default settings, use a paper clip to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
Step 2: Connect the modems DSL port (far left grey port) to the wall outlet.
Step 3: Plug in the power cable and turn your on using the Power button.
The power button is located on the rear of the modem.
Step 4: Wait for the modem to boot.
This may take 2-3 minutes.
Step 5: Connect your computer or any device to your modem by plugging an Ethernet cable from the device to one of the yellow ethernet ports, or you can connect your device via Wi-Fi.
Step 6: On your connected device, launch a web browser and type in
http://tplinkmodem.net or http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
You will be prompted to login to the modem.
The default username and password for the device is admin
Step 7: Once logged in, click on the “Quick Setup” button.
Step 8: Set the region and Time Zone for your location. Click Next.
Step 9: Select Other from the ISP List. Click Next.
Step 10: Select Dynamic IP for the Internet Connection Type. Click Next.
Step 11: Personalise your WiFi credentials. Click Next.
Step 12: All additional settings can remain as defaults unless advised otherwise.
Click Next to proceed until you reach the Summary Page and complete the setup.
